A 54-year-old woman was injured on Thursday at a pedestrian crossing in Ploiești by an ambulance responding to an emergency case. The ambulance driver, a 41-year-old man, had the acoustic and visual warning signals activated at the time of the accident. The police determined that the ambulance struck the woman while she was crossing the street, near the intersection with Clopoțeilor Street. At the time of the incident, the ambulance was not transporting any patients.
The victim was taken to the hospital for medical care, and both the driver of the emergency vehicle and the pedestrian were tested with a breathalyzer, with negative results. The police continue their investigations to establish all the circumstances of the accident, opening a criminal case for bodily harm through negligence.
