A 42-year-old woman from Aiud was apprehended by the police after she found a bank card on the street, which she did not return to the authorities. On December 8, 2025, she took advantage of the fact that the PIN code was noted on the card and made cash withdrawals totaling 3,600 lei.

The Aiud Municipal Police has initiated investigations to determine the exact circumstances of the act, investigating the crimes of conducting financial operations fraudulently, illegal access to a computer system, and the retention of a found item or one that has mistakenly come into the perpetrator's possession.
