The Prahova County Council, the main shareholder of the water supplier Hidro Prahova, stated that the problem of drinking water supply is not caused by the supplier, but by the Paltinu dam, where the facilities have entered a technical blockage due to high turbidity. This situation has led to a complete halt of water supply in the localities of Câmpina, Breaza, Băicoi, Adunați, Poiana Câmpina, Șotrile, Bănești, Brebu, Telega, Vărbilău, Aluniș and partially in the Florești commune, affecting tens of thousands of people. The County Council has requested rapid intervention from the responsible institutions to resume the water capture process, even at a minimum flow, to allow the Voila Treatment Station to return to operation. Hidro Prahova is ready to distribute water as soon as production is resumed, but the responsibility for remedying the situation lies with the institutions that manage the dam and water treatment.
