Voxa, the streaming platform for audiobooks and e-books, has secured over 4 million euros in funding in a round led by the investment fund Catalyst Romania, aiming to expand in the Balkans and strengthen its leadership position in Hungary, where it entered in 2025. This is the 12th investment from Catalyst Romania's Fund II, which also includes Crescendo Ventures and SeedBlink. Launched in November 2021 by entrepreneurs Marin and Dan Vidrașcu, Voxa has surpassed 1 million users and offers a catalog of over 200,000 titles.

The raised capital will support expansion in Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as product development through the introduction of a freemium model. CEO Dan Vidrașcu emphasized that the local streaming model has proven effective in Romania and Hungary, and the Balkans represent a significant opportunity due to fragmented infrastructure. Voxa recorded over 50% growth in paying subscribers in 2025 and is exploring partnerships with players in retail, telecommunications, and fintech. Marius Ghenea, Managing Partner of Catalyst Romania, highlighted Voxa's potential to become a European regional leader in digital content.
