Victor Ponta commented on Facebook about the plagiarism allegations against the Minister of Justice, Radu Marinescu, which allegedly contains copied fragments in his doctoral thesis. Ponta suggests that USR wants to take control of the Ministry of Justice, using the plagiarism allegations as a political attack. An investigation by PressOne showed that 56.68% of Marinescu's thesis is plagiarized, with passages copied from other works.

Minister Radu Marinescu rejected the allegations, calling them defamatory and emphasizing that he has not violated academic standards. He stated that the allegations are politically motivated, occurring in a context where the Ministry of Justice has started the selection of prosecutors. Ponta warns that the battle for Justice has begun and that USR will not stop until it gains complete control.
