The project has received favorable opinions and is set to be voted on in the plenary session of the Senate. Gorghiu emphasized that this measure removes an important financial barrier, helping victims to break away from their aggressors and to rebuild their lives in safety. The legislative amendment complements Emergency Ordinance no. 80/2013 and has a minimal budgetary impact, but a major effect on the safety of victims. Gorghiu highlighted the necessity of collaboration between institutions to ensure real protection for victims and their access to justice, considering that Romania is taking an important step towards a more empathetic and equitable justice system.
