Miruță explained that drones are often destroyed through technical means, but Ponta shared a clip suggesting that the minister blames the Ukrainians for the drone incidents. In his Facebook post, Ponta demanded that Miruță be "shot" for his statements, which sparked outrage from USR. The party emphasized that the language used by Ponta is unacceptable for a public figure and reflects a fascination with authoritarian regimes.

USR condemned Ponta's attack as being based on false information and highlighted the importance of arguments in democracy, not calls for violence.
