Ionuț Moșteanu held talks with US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth at the NATO summit and sent him a formal invitation to visit NATO bases in Romania. Although it is not known whether Hegseth will be able to come this year, the minister announced that the French defense minister will visit Bucharest in the fall. Romania currently hosts some 5,000 NATO troops from several countries, and Moșteanu is keen to have even more American troops on Romanian soil.
