In a statement published on Tuesday, the Financial Supervisory Authority informed the Bucharest Stock Exchange that Unit 2 of the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant continues to operate at nominal capacity, adhering to all nuclear safety standards.

This operation is carried out in accordance with the applicable internal procedures in situations of severe drought. The measures implemented by the Romanian authorities to increase the Danube level at Cernavodă have been successful, and the interim Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, announced a 2-centimeter increase in water level. This increase was made possible due to the controlled detonation of a rock formation on the Bala branch, carried out on Monday.

Specialists at Cernavodă constantly monitor operating parameters and equipment safety. According to INHGA forecasts, the Danube flow is estimated to decrease to 1,400 m³/s and to remain stationary until the beginning of next week.
