A remarkable archaeological discovery has taken place along the route of the future A8 highway, near the town of Târgu-Neamț. Researcher Dr. Vasile Diaconu announced that an archaeological site with remains from various periods has been identified, but the most notable is a symbolic burial of a horse, dating from the 10th to 13th centuries.

In the grave, the skeletal remains of the horse were found, along with pieces of harness and weapons, including a dagger and arrowheads. This discovery suggests the existence of Turanic communities in the sub-Carpathian area, a new piece of information for local history. The grave, which contains only animal bones, is rare and indicates a special bond between the warrior and his horse. The weapons and harness pieces will be restored for display in museums, and a sample of the bones will be radiocarbon dated to establish a more accurate chronology.
