UDMR voted against two laws aimed at protecting young people from gambling addiction, arguing that it is not logical to not trust the judgment of young people, who can vote or go to the front. The president of UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, stated that he agrees with banning advertisements for gambling by public figures, acknowledging their negative effects on society.

The voted laws prohibit access for young people under 21 to gaming halls and restrict online advertising. Superbet, the leader in the gambling market, warned that these restrictions could lead to an increase in the black market. Other European countries have had mixed experiences with gambling legislation, with some reversing previous bans.
