Two prison police officers have been detained, accused of procuring high-risk drugs to sell to inmates at Jilava and of illegally introducing mobile phones into the prison. Alongside them, four other defendants are being investigated, two of whom have been detained, while two are under judicial control.

Following the searches conducted, over 40 doses of powdery substances, syringes, writings, money, and other evidence were discovered. The investigation revealed that, between July and October 2025, the police officers violated the law regarding the execution of sentences, facilitating access to drugs and mobile phones for inmates. On Wednesday, the court will decide on the proposal for preventive arrest for 30 days. The action was coordinated by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism, with the support of the police and gendarmerie.
