Two Georgian citizens are under investigation after they misled a company in Sibiu by using the details of a transport company from Poland to conclude a transport contract for four pallets with batteries from France. On December 5, the manager of the company in Șelimbăr reported to the police, stating a damage of 1,000,000 euros.

The police discovered that, after loading the goods, the carrier did not show up at the second loading point. Checks revealed that the goods were redirected to an address in Belgium, where the pallets with batteries, valued at 2,000,000 lei, were found. Due to international cooperation, the Belgian authorities identified the two Georgian men involved. The total damage recovered was 5,000,000 lei, and the case is being investigated for fraud with particularly serious consequences.
