The government has decided, through an emergency ordinance, to extend transport facilities for war veterans, war widows, and pensioners until December 31, 2026. These facilities will continue to be granted based on free travel tickets or special vouchers, considering that not all beneficiaries hold health cards. The measure ensures the continuity of existing rights for these categories, preventing their interruption. The decision comes in the context of preparing an ordinance that provides for the freezing of pensions and salaries for the year 2026. Additionally, the PSD has proposed in Parliament draft laws to exempt parents on child-rearing leave and veterans from paying CASS. The former Minister of Labor emphasized that the budgetary impact of these measures is minimal, given the small number of beneficiaries.
