On Saturday evening, a serious incident occurred in Caraș-Severin County, when a passenger train hit a metal axle left on the tracks at the Crușovăț station. The train driver could not avoid the axle, and after the train stopped, CFR employees discovered a second axle on another track. The incident was considered by the authorities to have a very high potential danger, and the Transport Police launched an investigation to determine the circumstances and possible associated crimes, including destruction or false signaling.

The director of AGIFER stated that he will not open a separate investigation, emphasizing the importance of the police investigation. CFR is cooperating with the authorities to identify the responsible individuals, suspecting a possible act of sabotage. The train was delayed by 140 minutes following the incident.
