Traian Băsescu has won the case against the Presidential Administration, with the court ordering it to pay him the amount of 754,234.84 lei, representing the net monthly allowance for the period 23.03.2022 - 31.07.2025. This decision annuls Order no. 55/2022 and a letter from May 2022, and obliges the defendant to bear the court costs of 17,648 lei.

However, the decision is not final and can be contested within 15 days. In 2022, Băsescu's allowance was suspended after the High Court of Cassation and Justice established that he had collaborated with the former Securitate under the code name 'Petrov'. The trial was initially suspended until the resolution of a constitutional exception regarding the law that excludes collaborating individuals from receiving allowances.
