A 17-year-old girl died at the Odobescu Maternity Hospital in Timisoara shortly after giving birth. The police have taken the matter into their own hands and are investigating the situation. The girl's family claims that she was in pain and was initially consulted at Maternitatea Bega, but was sent home. At Maternitatea Odobescu, the young woman gave birth naturally, but suffered cardio-respiratory arrest and did not respond to resuscitation maneuvers. Representatives of the maternity hospital say they followed all medical protocols. The newborn is in good condition.
