On Wednesday, students of Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB) gathered in front of the rectorate to protest against the increase in tuition fees, a decision adopted on February 16 by the UBB Senate. The protest, organized by the UBB Students' Organization (OSUBB) and other student organizations, included critical messages such as "Fees are rising, opportunities for education are decreasing" and "Diploma on debt."

The fee increase, considered the largest in recent years, will be implemented gradually over the next two years. In response, UBB issued a statement highlighting social protection measures for students, including scholarships and fee reductions. The university is committed to supporting students through various facilities and is open to dialogue to find solutions to their needs.
