The scenario of the false meeting: Nicușor Dan, Ponta, and Coldea, actors in a PNL production

A supposed meeting between Nicușor Dan, Victor Ponta, and Florian Coldea, revealed by Elena Lasconi before the presidential elections in May 2025, would have actually been a complex setup. Sources close to the case stated that the unclear images were made with actors who played the roles of the three public figures.

According to G4Media, the operation was allegedly commissioned by PNL, which supported Crin Antonescu, and the filming was carried out by people from Nicușor Dan's entourage. DIICOT prosecutors have already questioned the organizers of the filming, and the involved actors have been identified.

Nicușor Dan has rejected the accusations, announcing criminal complaints for defamation, while Victor Ponta denied the meeting and filed a lawsuit. Polls during the scandal showed a tight competition between candidates, and discrediting one of them could influence the election results.
