The Academy emphasizes that there are no documents in the artist's archives that attest to such an intention. The minutes from March 7, 1951, mentioned by some as evidence, reflect only discussions about the art of sculptors, without a formal offer of donation.

Brâncuși did not wish to leave his artistic legacy to Romania, preferring France, where he lived and worked. Although he left Romania at the age of 28, he continued to love his homeland, but chose to leave his studio in France, where he benefited from the support of his friends and admirers. The Romanian Academy highlights that Paris offered much greater visibility than Bucharest, which was under the influence of communism.
