The Municipality of Bucharest (PMB) has started a project to elevate pedestrian crossings in areas with excessive speed, recently announcing that four such crossings have already been modified on Laminorului Boulevard. Furthermore, another four crossings will be elevated on Dezrobirii Street, Văcărești Avenue, Laminorului Boulevard, and Lucrețiu Pătrășcanu, near Nichita Stănescu High School.
PMB is also planning another 13 locations for this modification. The project includes a feasibility study for the illumination of 140 pedestrian crossings, which will be visible at night, thus facilitating the observation of pedestrians by drivers. The municipality emphasizes that these measures are being implemented especially on streets and boulevards with STB traffic. Additionally, sector municipalities contribute to this effort, with Sector 6 already having 307 illuminated pedestrian crossings and 94 elevated ones.
