The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, announced that the package of measures for the relaunch of Romania's economy is on the right track and aims to support SMEs, as well as transform the economy from one based on consumption to one focused on investments and added value.
Among the main measures are the simplification of rules for micro-enterprises, unlocking access to capital through state guarantees and subsidized interest rates for investments of up to 50 million lei, as well as increasing the VAT collection threshold from 4.5 million lei to 5 million lei in 2026 and 5.5 million lei in 2027. Nazare emphasized that the state must become an active partner of the business environment, providing liquidity and predictability, and not an obstacle, and the entire package of measures is available for consultation on the Ministry of Finance's website.
