The Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee (COSR) has announced the launch of the Nadia 2026 program, an anniversary project dedicated to Romanian sports, which will take place throughout the entire year. It will include a series of events that bring together sports, culture, education, and the community, supported by the Government of Romania and local partners.
Onești, designated as the city of sports in 2026, will host a temporary museum dedicated to Nadia Comăneci, as well as international cups and sports festivals. Educational projects for youth will include the 'Champions Parade' gala. Events will also take place in other cities, such as the debut gala 'Nadia Comăneci' in March and the gala 'Nadia Comăneci – 50 years since the first score of 10.00' in May, in Bucharest. Nadia Comăneci emphasized the importance of this year for gymnastics and the future of young athletes.
