The local administrations in Abrud, Câmpeni, and Arieșeni suspend the collection of local taxes for 2026, awaiting legal clarifications regarding tax incentives for disadvantaged areas.

Following an article published by Ziarul Unirea, the mayors of the towns of Abrud, Câmpeni, and the commune of Arieșeni have decided to temporarily suspend the collection of local taxes and fees for the year 2026. This measure was taken in the context of requests made to the central authorities for the application of the tax facilities provided by Government Decision no. 323/1996, which offers reductions of up to 50% for localities in disadvantaged areas, such as the Apuseni Mountains and the Danube Delta.

The mayor of Abrud, Radu Marcel Tuhuț, announced that the suspension will be in effect until new legal regulations are issued. Additionally, the municipality of Câmpeni communicated the same decision, while the municipality of Arieșeni mentioned that it will propose to the Local Council an amendment to the resolution regarding local taxes to allow for reductions.

In Alba County, other municipalities, such as Albac, have recommended that citizens postpone the payment of taxes until they receive clear responses from the competent institutions. Although the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 78/2025 does not repeal the tax facilities for disadvantaged areas, local authorities are awaiting clarifications in order to apply these reductions.
