The Minister's decision comes in response to concerns regarding the vulnerability of certain groups and the need for increased protection. The consultations will involve all relevant stakeholders and aim to identify appropriate legislative solutions. In cases where intervention is deemed necessary, harsher penalties could be introduced for crimes motivated by race, ethnicity, religion, and other criteria of discrimination, including aggravating circumstances for the crime of qualified murder, with penalties of life imprisonment or imprisonment between 15 and 25 years.
