Oana Țoiu: Over 500,000 consular services provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this year. Starting in September, some documents will be issued on the spot.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Ţoiu, announced on Facebook that the MFA has surpassed the threshold of 500,000 consular services provided this year, thanking colleagues for their efforts.

Starting in September, the databases of consular services will be integrated with those of the population registry, which will allow for the immediate issuance of documents, thus eliminating the need for citizens to return to complete procedures.

Additionally, the minister announced measures to increase the transparency of consular appointments, aimed at combating intermediaries who demanded illegal payments. The new appointment slots will be available on the first working day of each month, ensuring accessibility for all applicants. Some consulates have already opened 1,000 slots for August.

Moreover, the MFA will expand the range of consular services and develop the mobile services program, strengthening teams in the consular network.
