The Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration (MDLPA) will finance the reconstruction of the apartment building on Calea Rahovei in Bucharest, affected by the explosion on October 17, according to the announcement by Minister Cseke Attila.
To facilitate this effort, the ministry has published a draft emergency ordinance that modifies the legal framework of the national program for the reinforcement of buildings with high seismic risk. The new regulation will allow for full (100%) funding not only for reinforcements but also for demolitions and reconstructions of buildings affected by disasters. Minister Cseke emphasized the government's commitment to the safety of citizens in the event of an earthquake or other incidents. The affected building will be included in the program only after a technical expertise and a report on the cause of the explosion, conducted by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
The reconstructed buildings will be state property and will be assigned to local authorities, and the apartments will be available for rent to former owners or heirs.
