The Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, delivered a speech in which she rejected the accusations related to the blocking of the Mihăileni dam, stating that the circulating information in the public space is erroneous. She emphasized that the dam is functional and has prevented significant flooding in 2024 and 2025, protecting approximately 17,000 people.

Buzoianu mentioned that the related works are ongoing and that the cancellation of a 1987 permit by the court is not a surprise, but rather a manipulation. She also criticized the granting of permits without a solid legal basis, which leads to blockages. The Minister highlighted the issue of underfunding critical infrastructure, pointing out that the initial budget for dams was insufficient.
