The online petition 'Mario's Law', initiated by Lavinia Bichler after the murder of Mario, a 15-year-old teenager from Cenei, has gathered over 250,000 signatures. The law proposes criminal liability from the age of 10 for crimes such as murder, eliminating automatic impunity based on age.

It also aims to apply the maximum penalty in cases of aggravated murder and to ensure that minority status is no longer a mitigating circumstance in serious crimes. The crime was premeditated, and the suspects acted out of envy towards the victim who possessed goods they desired. Although the debate regarding the reduction of the age of criminal responsibility has been intense, the majority of parliamentarians do not consider it a viable solution.
