The Association of the Forum of Judges in Romania declared that it is unacceptable for magistrates in leadership positions to use derogatory language instead of engaging in a constructive dialogue about issues in the judiciary, such as hierarchical pressures and generalized fear. They have observed an increase in individual attacks from some members of the Superior Council of Magistracy, which underscores the need for legislative reforms to rectify the judicial system.
The Forum also criticized the behaviors of some judicial inspectors who denigrate their colleagues, contributing to an atmosphere of intimidation. The Association will notify international bodies and requests the intervention of the President of Romania to ensure compliance with the Constitution. It emphasizes that silence in the face of these deviations only reinforces the perception of a captive judicial system, undermining public trust in justice. The Forum is committed to continuing the fight for reforms that ensure the independence of the judiciary.
