The Ophthalmology Department of the Arad County Emergency Clinical Hospital has become, starting this month, the host of a high-performance optical biometer, purchased for the sum of 302,000 lei. This advanced equipment allows for the precise measurement of ocular parameters, such as the thickness of the lens, the depth of the anterior chamber, and the axial length.

Dr. Roxana Trenc, chief ophthalmology physician, emphasized the importance of this device in preparing for cataract surgeries, facilitating the correct calculation of the artificial lens's diopter. The optical biometer eliminates measurement errors associated with traditional methods and does not present risks of conjunctival infections.
