The Romanian government, through Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu, announced the preparation of an exploratory list of state companies that could be listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). Although the possibility of listing has been discussed, there is no political commitment, and Oana Gheorghiu emphasized that feasibility studies are needed to determine the eligibility of the companies. Among the proposed companies are Hidroelectrica and Romgaz, which could bring significant revenues through the listing of minority stakes. Other companies, such as CEC Bank and the Romanian Post, are conditional on further clarifications. The Deputy Prime Minister mentioned that the listing process is complex and requires specialized expertise. In response, PSD senator Daniel Zamfir criticized the initiative, suggesting that it could lead to the devaluation of the public economy.
