The Romanian government has decided, through a resolution, to extend the current exploration phase of the concession agreement for the Neptun XIX perimeter by two years, maintaining the total duration of the concession at 45 years, until 2045. Negotiations between the Romanian state and the Austrian company OMV have led to a favorable outcome for Romania, including OMV Petrom's withdrawal from legal actions.
The extended exploration phase, which will conclude on November 9, 2027, aims to optimize resources and ensure the continuity of drilling for the commercial structures Domino and Pelican Sud. These activities are essential for ensuring the security of natural gas supply in accordance with Romania's economic strategy. The completion of exploration-development works is considered a national priority.
