The European Commission has selected and launched pilot projects under the new skills guarantee, part of the Skills Union, with a total budget of 14.5 million euros. These initiatives will support nearly 1,000 European workers at risk of unemployment in the automotive sector, providing them with on-the-job training and opportunities in growing sectors.

The projects will be implemented by partners from various European countries, including Romania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, and Slovakia. Roxana Mănzatu, Executive Vice-President for Social Rights, emphasized the importance of these projects in facilitating professional transitions, aligning training with labor market needs.

The projects will generate practical evidence regarding the effectiveness of personalized training and will contribute to the development of a European skills guarantee for the budgetary period 2028-2034, managed by the European Social Fund Agency.
