On the occasion of Safer Internet Day, the European Commission launched a European Action Plan against cyberbullying, aimed at protecting minors in the digital environment. The plan includes measures such as strengthening online protection, clear rules for digital platforms, improved mechanisms for detecting and removing abusive content, and enhanced cooperation among member states.
Digital education is another essential pillar, with guidelines for educators and resources for parents. A unique European application for reporting online abuse will also be developed. The Executive Vice-President of the Commission, Roxana Mănzatu, emphasized the importance of these measures, stating that child protection must be unified at the European level. The Action Plan can be downloaded in full from the Commission's website.
