The National Meteorological Administration issued a yellow code warning for fog in several counties, the phenomenon affecting visibility and hindering traffic on several highways and national roads in Romania.

On the morning of January 26, dense fog created difficulties in traffic on several highways and national roads in Romania. According to the Traffic Information Center, visibility dropped below 200 m on the A1 Bucharest – Pitești, A2 Bucharest – Constanța, and A3 Bucharest – Ploiești highways, while in some areas it was below 50 m. Traffic problems are also felt in the municipality of Bucharest and in the counties of Alba, Brăila, Călărași, Dolj, Galați, Harghita, Ialomița, Ilfov, Mehedinți, Neamț, Olt, Teleorman, Tulcea, Vaslui, and Vâlcea. On other routes, such as A7 Ploiești – Adjud and DN1 Ploiești – Brașov, traffic is smooth, and visibility is good.

The weather forecast for this day indicates overcast weather, with rain and mixed precipitation in the mountains, and snow at high altitudes. The wind will have strong gusts, and maximum temperatures will range between 3 and 13 degrees. In Bucharest, the weather will warm up, with moderate rain and a maximum temperature of 10–12 degrees. Caution is advised in traffic due to weather conditions.
