The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA) announced that the Danube's flow at the entrance into the country, at the Baziaș section, will decrease slightly to 1350 m³/s, below the historical minimum of 1400 m³/s recorded in 1985.

The multiannual average for the month of August is 3900 m³/s. The estimates for the Cernavodă section are indicative, considering the interventions in the confluence area with the Bala branch, which could significantly reduce the decrease in levels.

The operations to dislocate the Pârjoaia rock, carried out by the National Administration "Apele Române" (ANAR), aimed to increase the water level by 10-12 cm. Due to the low flow, Unit 1 of the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant was controlled shut down on July 28, and the authorities declared a national state of alert for the month of August due to the decrease in electricity production.
