Today, the Constitutional Court has scheduled a meeting to analyze the objection of unconstitutionality raised by the High Court of Cassation and Justice regarding the Law on the service pensions of magistrates. The judges who left the previous meeting on Sunday, leaving the Court without a quorum, may appear today, but it is unclear whether they will participate in the deliberations.

The referral was sent to the CCR after Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan assumed responsibility for a new version of the law, contested by judges who argue that it affects the independence of the judiciary. The project includes significant changes, including an increase in the minimum seniority for retirement and the retirement age, to be implemented gradually over the next 15 years. The Court postponed the announcement of a decision after the debates were suspended due to lack of quorum.
