The Chinese Embassy in Bucharest launched an attack against a Romanian deputy who expressed support for Taiwan's independence.

The embassy's spokesperson emphasized that the principle of "one China" is the political foundation of the relations between China and Romania, as well as a guarantee of friendship between the two nations. The embassy's reaction comes in response to the parliamentarian's statements, which were perceived as a challenge to China's official position.

This situation highlights the existing tensions in international relations, especially in the context of the sensitivity of the Chinese regarding any reference to Taiwan's independence. The embassy reiterated that respecting this principle is essential for maintaining a healthy bilateral relationship.
