The General City Hall of the Capital has announced its intention to double the fees for towing improperly parked cars, a project that has been put up for public debate. The current fees, established in 2019, have not been updated since then, and the new regulations target vehicles parked illegally on public roads, in spaces designated for people with disabilities, or on public property.

Towing of cars will be ordered by traffic and local police. Additionally, starting May 1, hybrid cars will no longer benefit from free parking in areas managed by the Bucharest City Hall, affecting over 170,000 vehicles registered in the Capital. This measure marks a significant change after nearly a decade of exemptions for electric and hybrid cars.
