Ciprian Ciucu proposes new rules for organizing events in Bucharest: fewer "bâlciuri" and more "ștaif".

The Municipality of Bucharest announced on Wednesday, after a debate with event organizers at ARCUB, new proposals for regulating the organization of events in the capital.

Mayor Ciprian Ciucu emphasized that he wants clearer rules and requested feedback from organizers, mentioning that the current system is cumbersome and unpredictable. The new proposed version will allow organizers to submit a single application, and the Municipality will obtain all necessary approvals internally, thus simplifying the process. Additionally, the principle of 'first come, first served' will be abandoned, introducing criteria for differentiation based on scoring for location requests. The Municipality intends to also modify the fees for occupying public space, so that they reflect the type of event and the area.

Ciucu highlighted the importance of organizing quality events suitable for a European capital. This year will be a transition year, and the new rules will be implemented next year, after public consultations.
