The British government, led by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, will announce detailed proposals next week for relaxing banking regulations aimed at preventing a new financial crisis similar to that of 2008. These proposals include easing 'ring-fencing' regulations, which separate savings collection activities from investment activities. Additional details are expected on Monday, according to Sky News.

Finance Minister Rachel Reeves has supported these proposals, which would allow large British banks to offer loans at lower costs, thereby supporting organizations that align with the government's economic objectives. Banks will also be allowed to share more services between investment and retail divisions, which will help reduce costs.
