Teodor Țigan, former director of Romsilva, must return a retirement bonus of 280,520 lei, according to a preliminary court decision.

Teodor Țigan, the former head of the Arad Forestry Directorate and interim general director of Romsilva from 2020-2022, has been ordered by the court to return a retirement bonus amounting to 280,520 lei. The court's decision, which is not final, was announced by the Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu. Țigan received a gross bonus of 100,000 euros, but was later re-employed at Romsilva, combining his pension with his salary, which generated controversies regarding the legality of these actions.

The court upheld the decision to terminate his employment contract and rejected his action. Additionally, the National Anti-Corruption Directorate has been notified regarding Țigan's situation, as he allegedly did not have the right to receive the retirement bonus without terminating his employment contract. Țigan contested his dismissal, which occurred before the completion of the contract.
