The National Alliance of Student Organizations in Romania (ANOSR) is protesting against the government's intention to cut the budget for scholarships, which would reduce the number of beneficiaries. The government's proposal to allocate 10% of the net minimum wage to scholarships would lead to a 40% cut in funding, affecting students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Protests are taking place in several cities, including Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca, to draw attention to inequalities in the education system. The ANOSR stresses that austerity measures are not viable solutions to the budget deficit.
