Student from Craiova, gold medalist at the International Geography Olympiad

David Dumitrescu, a student from Craiova, shone at the International Geography Olympiad held in Bulgaria, winning the gold medal.

The young man participated in four international olympiads, achieving notable results, including a silver medal at the European Olympiad and first place at the world competition in Ireland. The competition in Bulgaria included theoretical, practical, and multimedia tests, assessing the participants' knowledge of physical geography, global issues, and geomorphological analysis.

David expresses his passion for geography, considering it an intersectional science, and acknowledges the essential contribution of his teachers throughout his journey. Although he will study economics at the University of Groningen, Netherlands, he wishes to return to Romania to contribute to the development of the country. David's performances demonstrate the potential of Romanian students on the international stage.
