The new set of rules from Spotify aims to protect artists from spam and identity theft, after music similar to original creations was uploaded to the platform. Although AI-generated music is not banned, users will be informed through a special label if AI has been used. Spotify is collaborating with DDEX to develop metadata standards, and an anti-spam filter will be introduced to combat counterfeit music.
