Local authorities will have the right to seize the social benefits of those who owe money to the local budget, under a draft administrative reform. Deputy Prime Minister Tanczos Barna pointed out that many recipients do not pay taxes, so the measure aims to force taxpayers to pay their debts. The draft also foresees other tools to improve local revenue collection, including restrictions in obtaining building permits and driving licenses for debtors.
