CSM Slatina player David Oprescu died at the age of 26 after being diagnosed with meningitis.

David Oprescu, who turned 26 two weeks before his death, was diagnosed with meningitis three months ago. His last official match was in May 2024, and his health was affected by an unsuccessful surgery for a mole, performed in England two years ago. Oprescu started his junior career in England and has played for CSM Slatina since 2019, helping the team to promotion to League 2.
