The Danube's flow has reached a new historic low, earlier than hydrologists anticipated, and the authorities are once again trying to save the operation of the Nuclear Power Plant in Cernavodă by the controlled sinking of four barges.

The operations for sinking the four barges loaded with the purpose of increasing the water flow to the Cernavodă Power Plant will begin on Thursday, after 10:00 AM, and could last, according to specialists, about six hours, their intention being for the maneuvers to be completed by evening.

ANAR specialists postponed, on Wednesday, the operations for sinking the four barges loaded in the Danube, with the aim of increasing the water flow to the Nuclear Power Plant in Cernavodă. According to them, after the displacement of the Pârjoaia dam, an initial stabilization of the water level was achieved, more precisely a halt in its decrease, and then a slight increase of two centimeters.
