Extreme weather continues to affect school activities in Romania. On January 15, 2026, nearly 1,800 students from the counties of Satu Mare, Prahova, Sibiu, and Teleorman will not attend classes in person due to the risks of ice, snow, and very low temperatures. The Ministry of Education has announced that six educational institutions will conduct activities online, and one school in Sibiu will completely suspend classes for that day. The situation is being constantly monitored, and any changes will be announced depending on the weather developments. Authorities recommend that parents and students follow official announcements for updates.
